Research is an essential mission of the faculty of Agriculture and Food Processing, which currently has not only national research but also international research in collaboration with many international and national partners worldwide. These are great opportunities for strengthening staff capacity and faculty development in the future of ASEAN standards. Priority areas of research for each specialty are as follows:

  • Department of Horticulture:

There are 7 research areas are identified for horticultural skills:

  1. Crop production and protection
  2. Horticultural crops (i.e. ornamental plants, and bedding plants)
  3. Rice-based and up-land farming systems
  4. Vegetable, fruit tree and industrial crops
  5. Soil classification, fertility, and conservation
  6. Water and soil management (i.e. sustainable agricultural production)

     7. Plant biotechnology and genetic resources conservation
